RUTTER PARK

Public BBQ

A flat, tree-covered park at Wembley that works as well for a picnic or a concert as it does for children. The equipment is basic but exactly what children want - a flying fox, a carousel, swings, monkey bars and climbing frames - and the sand is about the best around for sandcastles. Plenty of trees give ample shade through summer, and there are barbecues and shaded facilities. A dog park adjoins, though its off-leash hours are oddly set, so check the signs. The one thing that could improve is more regular cleaning of the sand.
